Here are snapshots from a program called “IERA Goes to School” (IGS 2022), a program conducted by the Community Service Division of Indonesia Extensive Reading Association (IERA). There are seven participating schools from different parts of Indonesia, namely SMPK Kalam Kudus, Jakarta, SMK PGRI 1 Kudus, SMA Budya Wacana, Yogyakarta, SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja, SMK Wisata, Jakarta, SMPIT Al Fateeh, Semarang, dan SMK Negeri 12 Malang. There are seven IERA members – lecturers from different institutions in the region coordinating the programs assisted by teachers from the schools and numerous Literacy hERoes – the university students acting as the mentors of the high school student participants. The program received positive responses from different parties of headmasters, school teachers, student participants, and literacy hERoes. It is expected to be sustainable.

These are videos of the IGS program from one of the school participants, namely SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja, Bali. The videos comprise four different yet connected ER programs: Acrostic Poem, Different Reels’ Story Ending, Readers’ Theatre, and Double Dates. So much fun!
