It’s weekend and it’s time for music :). I still have several concert photos from some shows and I am going to continue with this band.
Metallica! This band has a long in the music industry and probably can be considered as one of the best thrash metal pioneers, together with bands, such as Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax (see The Big Four Concert in Sofia, Bulgaria). The band’s been around for more than 30 years. Their anniversary was celebrated at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9, and 10, 2011. The four members – James Heitfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammet, and Robert Trujillo – played along with several top guests, like Jim Martin (Faith No More), Pepper Keenan (Down and Corrosion of Conformity), and Gary Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Glenn Danzig (Misfits), Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath), Biff Byford (Saxon), Kid Rock, Appocalyptica, Armored Saint, Geezer Butler, John Bush, Jerry Cantrell, Nick Culmer (Animal), Death Angel, King Diamond, Diamond Head, Marianne Faithfull, Mercyful Fate, Rebel Souls Brass Band, Lou Reed, Bob Rock, and many more.
The big surprise for sure, was the appearance of their former members of the band; the original bassist Ron MacGovney, guitarist Hugh Tanner, guitarist Lloyd Grant, bassist Jason Newsted and guitarist Dave Mustaine (Megadeth). Old school rocked! The only one missing was the late Cliff Burton who passed away in a bus accident in Sweden during their European tour in 1986. Cliff’s memory was strongly felt in ‘Orion’ and ‘To Live is to Die’ set list.
The four live parties, as Hetfield called them, can be watched in this YouTube playlist of MetallicaSoloFan (Best Videos for Metallica and Megadeth) – Metallica Live at Fillmore, 2011 Day #1, Day #2, Day #3, and Day #4. One of the monumental songs can be watched below.

These photos below, however, were taken from the Death Magnetic Tour (2010) in Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne. I have written a post earlier about my experience watching them (in Bahasa Indonesia) entitled “Death Magnetic Tour: Perjalanan Panjang Bertemu Metallica.”
So, here it is. I took some photos and I do hope you like them.
